Waukesha, Wisconsin is the home of Les Paul (1915-2009), inventor of the solid body electric guitar. In 1952, the Les Paul Model Gibson Guitar debuted, changing history forever. Waukesha kicked off the Les Paul celebration in May of 2012. Ten, 10-foot, artistically created fiberglass guitars were displayed around the city, along with 20 playable guitars. The Les Paul Guitar Art Crawl occurred on August 4th. Waukesha is a fun place to visit, dine and shop. Every art gallery and some of the restaurants have guitar themed items and/or gifts.
My personal favorite: chocolate guitars available at allo! Chocolat, a wonderful chocolatier located right on main street.
